Still Ready

Sitting in the Team office at 9am looking at weather forecasts. Although there are high clouds over Leszno this morning and high cirrus forecast over the task area today, it looks like we will have a day for racing.  Everyone is antsy and ready to fly after the last two days.  For whatever reason, the Captain's Briefing was cancelled for this morning. Captains tend to share their opinions generously and maybe the Director of the Championship is weary of that input.  "You should call more Assigned Tasks, you should have called an Area Task, you should have cancelled the day after the start line opened, Oh No, you shouldn't have done that!" Captain's Briefings can be quite entertaining, which is good because the pilots are having most of the fun.

Hungarian pilot, Gyorgy Gulyas, suffered a broken arm in a car accident during his retrieve after Monday's mass landout.  Attempting to swerve around a dog in the road, control of the crew vehicle was lost, and the car and trailer stopped abruptly in a ditch. Car totaled, trailer rebuildable, pilot with a plaster cast in a sling.

We are gridded on Runway 24 today.  The US Team is ready to race!
