Third Time's the Charm

Much enthusiasm in pilot meeting this morning for the winner of the 15-Meter race: David Mockler (2XX). Also some hilarity during the announcement of the 18-Meter winner, Russell Cheetham (E1)--somehow pronounced "Russell Chipmunk."

Carol Clifford announced the South African invitation for the Helli Lasch Challenge, an invitation-only all expense-paid gliding holiday in South Africa for the winner of each class and their partners.

Launch was initially scheduled for 11:15, finally started at 12:20, and ended at 2:00, with Open Class on the third proposed task of the day--a little over 260 k.  Is it possible that the launch took longer than completing the task?

Closing ceremony tomorrow at 11:00, town square.
