Another day above 35 degC, and not not a breath of wind - at any altitude. This is the fourth day in a row of high surface temperatures and calm conditions. We had summer-like conditions today: high humidity and haze, but with cloudbases above 7000 feet AGL.
Our team continues to practice, and today we got a 4-hour Area Task. All five pilots got home and turned in their Flight Logs. The Organisers require us to do this every day, but so far they have not published any results. This is probably to be expected during this unofficial training period, but we hope to see some scoring results when the official practice starts on Tuesday. It is interesting to note that there is no webpage for results on the contest website, so far.
The two pairs of pilots (98, AL and 7K, 2XX) flew the Task together, and from what we heard on the base station radio, both pairs are cooperating well on course. DB flew alone today; his partner SS is expected to arrive late tomorrow.
We have pretty much solved our parking, tiedown, ballasting, base station, and team office problems, thanks to the terrific leadership of our Captain, Dennis Linnekin. Dennis runs around every day making sure we have everything we need, and making sure that our pilots are insulated from any chores associated with interfacing with the Leszno organization. The only thing he hasn't done (so far) is to pick up the responsibility for typing these blog posts. Dennis, if you're reading this, I could really use some help, man. I'm just a crewperson, not a reporter.
The forecast looks good again tomorrow, and we will do our best to keep you up-to-date on twitter.
